While they are not as strong as their more advanced cousins, they can make for a formidable opponent. Using the right combination of armor and weaponry, they can easily outrange other units. In addition, they have a pierce attack, which is one of the best in the game.

The most important thing to know about Janissaries is that they are not as strong as their more advanced counterparts. While they have 15 attack and decent melee armor, they are susceptible to overextending and are prone to being pushed out of the way by Knights or other infantry. Fortunately, the game has some great counters to these problems, including Bombard Cannons and Siege Weapons.

There are many other units to choose from, but in this list, we are only focusing on the janissary. If you are an aggressive player, you can wreak havoc with these guys in sufficient numbers. Other units to keep an eye out for include the Huskarls and the Winged Hussars. These units offer a good combination of splash damage and attack bonuses, which can overcome the usual Janissary defenses. Furthermore, they are also able to make the most of the janissary's other features. So, while they might not be as nimble as the aforementioned Hand Cannoneers, their abilities are worth looking into.

There are also some less impressive units to look out for, such as the Imperial Janissary and the Royal Janissary. Both of these units are the same in stats, but the Imperial version has a higher hit point count and a higher bonus to their attack.
