Located in Phuket Town, Thailand, the Monkey Hill or "Khao Toe Sae" as it is called locally is a hill which provides the best view of the city. The road to the summit is 3.5 km long and takes about two hours to complete, depending on your fitness level.

Aside from providing the best view in the city, Monkey Hill is also one of the best places to interact with monkeys. Aside from the obvious chasing each other and howling at each other, monkeys will also play with ice cream cones and garbage.

Another nifty thing about Monkey Hill is that it has a nice shrine to the holy spirits. This shrine has statues of several wild animals. It was erected in memory of the man who had the same name as the hill. This is the same person who has been known to perform tricks with the monkeys, so be sure to go see him in action.

Another thing to do at Monkey Hill is feed the monkeys. Apparently, there are hundreds of them on the hill. A local man named Pae Hog presides over the feedings. He is also known as Uncle Hog, and does a good job of entertaining the monkeys. In addition to the feedings, he has also made a name for himself by performing a monkey show which is said to be the best in all of Phuket.

Aside from the usual tourist attractions, Monkey Hill offers some upscale accommodation options. The Coral Suite features a walk-in wardrobe, a patio garden, and a King-size bed. The Seahorse Room is also a lovely option. The room boasts a patio garden, a sitting area, and a gazebo-like setting for dining. It also has granite counter tops, high-end appliances, and a breakfast bar. The Coral suite is also a popular choice amongst honeymooners.

For the more adventurous, you can also trek to the top of the hill. This is a fairly easy task and can be done in the early morning or late afternoon. The main vantage point for the best views is around the mid-way mark, but it's worth taking the incline to the top of the hill to get the full effect.

If you don't have the patience to climb the mountain, you can take a tuk tuk. These small vehicles are similar to mini-vans, and provide a fun ride. They have no windows in the back, but you will be able to enjoy the ride.

If you do want to interact with the monkeys, you should wear the right clothing. The monkeys are not afraid of people, but they are aggressive, and they may grab you. They can also snag shiny objects if you aren't careful. It is also important to hide any bags and jewelry.

The best way to see the views from the top is to climb up the hill, but if you are short on time, you can always park at the bottom and get a tour of the sanctuary.
