The Last Man

The Last Man is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama that is based on a wildly popular comic book series by Brian K. Vaughan. It tells the story of Yorick Brown (Ben Schnetzer), who is the last man on Earth after a mysterious event kills off everything with a Y chromosome. In the sequel, Dr. Mann has succeeded in cloning Yorick seventeen times and cloned thousands of other males who died in the past. As a result, most of the world is peaceful and prosperous. In addition to this, Yorick and Beth's daughter is President of France. Despite the odds, despite their differences, Yorick and Beth marry and raise their daughter.

Amid the drama, this film tries to address the power struggle within the patriarchy. While transgender and cis men alike died as a result of the "event," these individuals died because of men. In addition to the men who died, a transgender woman died on the same plane that carried men.
